Jace: a company that makes stuff. Accounts, Sign in with Jace, and the API for Jace Social, Jace Store, Jace Launcher and more.
A company that makes stuff. Live at jaceo.vercel.app.
Jace is the home of the Jace apps: Jace Social, Jace Launcher, Jace Store, BlidOS, Profile Maker, VLC Redesign, and more. This repo is the website, which:
Older community features (videos, games, chat, messages, Cloud, organizations, open forums) are still in the code but hidden by proxy.ts; their data is kept.
Built by Claude, made by Anthropic.
Built with Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind, NextAuth, Neon Postgres, and Supabase Storage.
npm install
npm run dev
See ENV_EXAMPLE.md for the environment variables you need, and lib/schema.sql for the database schema. Set ROOT_ADMIN_ID and SUPPORT_ORG_ID in lib/constants.ts to your own owner account and support organization.
Scores API for Jace apps: a new "scores" permission lets apps read a player's game scores (including old Snake and Memory Match scores) and the leaderboards, and lets Jace's own apps like Jace Games save new scores without duplicates. Documented on the Developers page; Privacy Policy updated. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Sync projects with GitHub: link a public repository when you create a project or later in Edit project, and its description, website, README, and releases (as versions) stay in sync. Syncs when linked, with Sync now, and automatically in the background. Release notes now render as Markdown. No secrets or account data.
Source code
A new look: a new header and logo, a redesigned home page, project cards and profile header, restyled cards and fields across the site, and a footer with Terms of Service and Privacy Policy buttons that open the documents in a popup. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Jace is now a company site: "A company that makes stuff." The home page lists our projects, colors match Jace Social, older features are hidden (data kept), accounts get a tabbed account manager, and Jace's official apps get a messages API (both directions) and a moderation API. Also open source on GitHub: https://github.com/okjace/jace (MIT). Terms and Privacy Policy updated. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Color themes and custom backgrounds: pick from 19 color themes (each with a light and dark shade), and set your background to a solid color or an image (upload or URL, with an optional fade so text stays readable) in the profile Edit tab under Appearance. Privacy Policy updated to cover appearance settings. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Themes: pick System, Light, or Dark in the profile Edit tab under Appearance, and add your own custom CSS that applies across Jace for you (add ?nocss to any URL to skip it). No secrets or account data.
Source code
The account switcher's Add account now opens in a popup with everything the normal sign-in page has: GitHub, email link, password with 2FA, forgot password, and sign up. Also restores the project version edit/delete API route. No secrets or account data.
Source code
'Sign in with Jace' management (Connected apps, Manage your apps) now also shows on the profile's Edit tab, not just Account settings. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Adds 'Sign in with Jace': a minimal OAuth 2.0 authorization-code provider so other websites can let people sign in with their Jace account. Register apps under Account settings, manage connected apps from there too. New oauth_clients/oauth_codes/oauth_tokens/oauth_grants tables. No secrets or account data.
Source code
The READ ME popup now also shows to signed-out visitors (dismissal remembered in a cookie). No secrets or account data.
Source code
The READ ME popup now offers deleting your account or any of your data directly, without having to accept it first. No secrets or account data.
Source code
New 'Your data' section in profile settings: delete any category of your own data (videos, projects, forum posts, comments, chat/DMs sent, Cloud files, scores, activity, profile info) without deleting the account. No secrets or account data.
Source code
READ ME popup now polls in the background so it shows up mid-session, not just on a fresh page load. Admins get a 'Push to everyone again' button on the READ ME forum page to re-show its current contents to every account. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Accounts with no email on file can now delete themselves immediately with just their password (or, with no password either, a simple confirm) instead of needing an emailed link. No secrets or account data.
Source code
READ ME forum now pops up automatically (everything for new accounts, just what's new for returning ones) and its topics show only the main post, no replies. All forums' topic lists are now paginated. Also fixes a bad deploy: ROOT_ADMIN_ID/SUPPORT_ORG_ID had been accidentally zeroed out in v1.0.5/v1.0.6, now restored. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Adds an account switcher: save several of your own accounts in one browser, switch between them, and forget one with a trash button. Replaces the standalone sign-out button in profile settings. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Muted and banned accounts can no longer edit their bio, website, or social links. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Muted and banned accounts now have their forum posts, comments, chat messages, group messages and DMs hidden (with a notice in DMs), restored on unmute/unban. No secrets or account data.
Source code
Muted and banned accounts: bio label, hidden links, no creating videos/projects/orgs, and their videos/projects/orgs hidden (restored on unmute). No secrets or account data.
Source code
Anonymous reporting: visitors can report content without an account (with spam protection). No secrets or account data.
Source code
Adds reports (report content and accounts, admin review queue), plus the appeal channel, live ban/mute updates, org posting and messaging, and the rock-and-roll trailer. No secrets or account data.
Source code

Welcome to Jace ("Jace", "the site", "we", "us"). Jace is a hobby project run by an individual Jace (or ququoqu). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Jace.
Jace is the home of the Jace apps (Jace Social, Jace Launcher, Jace Store, BlidOS, Profile Maker, VLC Redesign, and more). One Jace account signs you in to them, and the site lists the projects and publishes their source code.
Jace used to also have videos, games, live chat, direct messages, group chats, Cloud, organizations, and open forums. Those are no longer shown on the site, but what you posted there is kept, not deleted, and you can still delete it from "Your data" in your account settings.
You agree not to:
Site administrators may review reported content and take action to keep the community safe, including:
Jace's own apps (marked Official, such as Jace Social) can also ban or unban a Jace account, for example when someone breaks the rules in that app. A ban applies to your whole Jace account, signs you out of every app you signed in to with Jace, and can be appealed the same way. Staff accounts can't be banned by apps, and every ban an app makes is logged.
Admins decide moderation actions at their own discretion. If you think an action was a mistake, you can appeal by messaging the Jace Official organization. Appeals are considered, but the decision is final.
You can report content or accounts that break these rules using the Report links on the site. Reports may be made without an account. Please don't file false or abusive reports.
If you believe something on Jace infringes your copyright, contact us at jaceofficialbrand@hotmail.com with: what the work is, where it appears on the site (a link), your contact details, and a statement that you're the owner or authorized to act for them. We'll review it and may remove the content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jace and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your content, your use of the site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone else's rights (including copyright and privacy rights).
Jace relies on other services to run (see the Privacy Policy) and on services users may link to. Their availability, terms, and privacy practices are outside our control, and we're not responsible for them. Signing in with GitHub is subject to GitHub's terms.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Jace, or the whole site, at any time, with or without notice, and we won't be liable to you or anyone else for doing so. Please keep your own copies of anything important.
We may update these Terms. If we make a significant change, we'll post a notice in the READ ME or News forum on the site. Continuing to use Jace after a change means you accept the new Terms.
